Why Moroccan Celebration?

A country where people sing, dance, and celebrate life.

Morocco is known for its magnificent landscapes, historic cities, and rich cultural heritage. But what has impressed me most is something beyond what guidebooks can describe.

It is the way people naturally celebrate life through music, rhythm, dance, beautiful clothing, and the warmth of gathering together. Whether in a family celebration, a wedding, a local festival, or simply among friends, music is not something to watch. It is something to join.

Before you know it, your body begins to move.
That feeling became the starting point of Moroccan Celebration.

なぜ、Moroccan Celebrationなのか

人々が歌い、踊り、人生を祝う国。

モロッコには、美しい景色や歴史ある街並み、世界に誇る文化遺産があります。しかし、私が最も魅力を感じたのは、ガイドブックには載っていない、人々の暮らしの中にある文化でした。

音楽が流れれば自然に身体が動き、美しいカフタンをまとい、世代を超えて一緒に踊り、笑い、人生を祝う。結婚式でも、お祭りでも、家族の集まりでも、そこにあるのは「見せる文化」ではなく、「参加する文化」です。

気がつくと、自分もその輪の中で身体を動かしていました。この体験こそが、Moroccan Celebrationという構想の原点です。

What We Have Seen in Japan

A growing interest, waiting for a new approach.

Over the past several years, interest in Morocco has steadily grown in Japan. More people are discovering Moroccan cuisine, interior design, crafts, fashion, and travel. Cultural events are becoming more frequent, and Morocco is gradually becoming a familiar destination for Japanese travelers.

Yet most of these encounters remain temporary. People enjoy Morocco for a day, take photographs, and return home with pleasant memories.

What if these experiences could become something more? What if they inspired people to learn, dance, wear a kaftan, create new businesses, or even travel to Morocco?

This question became the foundation of Moroccan Celebration. Our goal is not simply to introduce Moroccan culture. Our goal is to create lasting connections between people, cultures, and opportunities.

モロッコへの関心は、確実に広がっている。

ここ数年、日本ではモロッコへの関心が少しずつ高まっています。料理や雑貨、インテリア、旅行、工芸などを通じて、モロッコ文化に触れる機会は以前よりも増えてきました。イベントも各地で開催され、モロッコは少しずつ身近な存在になりつつあります。

しかし、その多くは一日限りの体験で終わってしまいます。「楽しかった。」「きれいだった。」そんな記憶だけを残して、日常へ戻っていく。

もし、その体験が次の一歩につながったらどうでしょう。カフタンを着てみたい。ダンスを習ってみたい。音楽を演奏してみたい。モロッコを訪れてみたい。あるいは、日本で新しい仕事を始めてみたい。

文化との出会いが、人との出会いへ、仕事へ、そしてモロッコへの旅へと続いていく。そんな循環をつくることはできないだろうか。その問いから、Moroccan Celebrationという構想は少しずつ形になっていきました。

The Idea Behind Moroccan Celebration

Culture becomes stronger when it creates opportunities.

Moroccan Celebration did not begin as an event. It began with a simple question. How can authentic Moroccan culture continue to grow in Japan after a performance ends?

The answer was not to organize more events. It was to build a cycle. A performance inspires curiosity. Curiosity leads to learning. Learning creates skills. Skills create new opportunities. Those opportunities encourage more people to discover Morocco.

In this way, culture does not disappear after a single event. It continues to grow through people. This is the idea behind Moroccan Celebration.

文化は、人と仕事につながることで育っていく。

Moroccan Celebration は、一つのイベントを企画するために生まれた構想ではありません。「本物のモロッコ文化を、日本で継続的に育てることはできないだろうか。」その問いから始まりました。

その答えは、イベントを増やすことではありませんでした。必要なのは、文化が次の文化を生み出していく仕組みです。一人の来場者がモロッコに興味を持つ。ワークショップへ参加する。カフタンを着る。ダンスを学ぶ。仲間が増える。モロッコへ旅をする。そして今度は、自分がその魅力を誰かへ伝える。

文化は、一日限りのイベントでは終わりません。人から人へ受け継がれることで、少しずつ育っていきます。Moroccan Celebration は、その循環をつくるための考え方です。

Moroccan Celebration is not built through one large project. It begins with small, authentic experiences that inspire people to learn, participate, and share Moroccan culture. Each project is one step in building a lasting cultural bridge between Morocco and Japan.

Where We Begin

Every long journey starts with one first step.

Every vision begins with a single action. For Moroccan Celebration, that first step is not a large festival or a major investment. It is creating a community.

We will invite authentic Chaabi dance instructors from Morocco to Japan and organize introductory workshops where anyone can experience the joy of Moroccan rhythm and movement. Using original Moroccan music, participants can begin dancing immediately. No musicians are required. No previous dance experience is necessary.

What matters is simply taking the first step. From these workshops, new dancers, instructors, cultural ambassadors, and future collaborators will naturally emerge. This is how Moroccan Celebration begins.

はじめの一歩

大きな構想は、小さな一歩から始まる。

どんな構想も、最初の一歩がなければ現実にはなりません。Moroccan Celebrationも、最初から大規模なイベントを目指すわけではありません。まず必要なのは、人が集まり、一緒に楽しめる場所をつくることです。

最初のプロジェクトとして、モロッコからChaabiダンスの講師を招き、日本でワークショップを開催します。使用するのは、本場モロッコのChaabi音源。生演奏はまだ必要ありません。まずはリズムを感じ、身体を動かし、カフタンをまとい、モロッコ文化を楽しむことから始めます。

ここから新しいダンサーが生まれ、認定講師が育ち、やがてChaabi Tokyoのメンバーとなり、日本各地へその輪が広がっていきます。Moroccan Celebrationは、この小さな一歩から始まります。

A Community That Grows

One workshop becomes a movement.

Every participant has the potential to become more than a visitor. Some will become dancers. Some will become instructors. Some will introduce Moroccan culture through fashion, tourism, education, or business.

As more people join, Moroccan Celebration grows from a single workshop into a community that continues to create new opportunities between Morocco and Japan. The goal is not simply to organize events. The goal is to cultivate people who will carry Moroccan culture into the future.

一つのワークショップが、一つのコミュニティになる。

一回のワークショップは、そこで終わりではありません。参加者の中から、ダンサーになる人、認定講師になる人、カフタンを紹介する人、モロッコへの旅を企画する人、企業との橋渡しをする人、そんな新しい仲間が少しずつ生まれていきます。

Moroccan Celebrationが育てたいのはイベントではなく、人です。人が育てば、文化は続きます。そして文化が続けば、新しい仕事と交流が生まれます。

Looking Toward 2030

Building a long-term cultural partnership.

The FIFA World Cup 2030 will place Morocco in the global spotlight. For many people, it will be the first time they discover the country. For Moroccan Celebration, however, 2030 is not the destination. It is an opportunity to strengthen a cultural bridge that can continue for decades.

Our vision is to build a sustainable partnership where artists, designers, educators, businesses, and travelers continue to connect long after the tournament has ended. Culture does not end with an event. It grows through relationships. That is the future we hope to build.

2030年、モロッコはFIFAワールドカップの開催国の一つとして、世界中から注目を集めます。多くの人にとって、それはモロッコを知る最初のきっかけになるでしょう。しかし、Moroccan Celebrationにとって、2030年はゴールではありません。新しい文化交流が始まるスタートラインです。

音楽家、ダンサー、デザイナー、職人、教育者、企業、そして旅人。さまざまな人々が出会い、新しい挑戦を生み出し、その成果が再びモロッコへ還元されていく。そんな長く続くパートナーシップを育てていきたいと考えています。文化は、一度きりのイベントでは終わりません。人と人との関係の中で、未来へ受け継がれていきます。

Moroccan Celebration Council

Growing this vision together.

Moroccan Celebration is too large to be built by one person or one organization. It will require artists, educators, designers, businesses, tourism professionals, cultural institutions, and many others who believe in the power of culture.

The Moroccan Celebration Council is envisioned as an open platform where these partners can meet, share ideas, and develop projects together. Rather than directing the vision, the Council exists to support it. Its role is to connect people, encourage collaboration, and help Moroccan Celebration continue to grow for many years to come.

Moroccan Celebration Councilは、そのための「運営組織」というよりも、「協働のプラットフォーム」として構想しています。誰かが指示を出す場ではなく、新しい出会いが生まれ、新しいプロジェクトが育ち、日本とモロッコを結ぶ仲間が増えていく。そんな未来を支える場を目指しています。

Join the Journey

This vision can only grow through people.

Moroccan Celebration began with a simple idea: culture should not end when an event is over. It should remain in people’s memories, lead to new encounters, and gradually become part of everyday life. To make that possible, we need more than performers and audiences. We need artists, educators, designers, craftspeople, tourism professionals, businesses, cultural institutions, and people who are willing to share their knowledge, ideas, and networks.

Some may support the first workshop. Others may help bring teachers or kaftans from Morocco. Some may open doors to schools, wedding companies, festivals, travel programs, media, or new business opportunities. Every contribution can become part of a larger movement.

Moroccan Celebration is still at the beginning. Its future will not be decided by one person or one organization, but by the people who choose to take part in building it. We invite partners from Morocco and Japan to join this journey and help create a cultural platform that can continue far beyond a single event.
